We were trying out this basketball/volleyball combo set to see if it would work in the pool. Unfortunately the side of the net to the right drops off into the deep end (8 ft.) not far from where Ethan is standing so it didn't work very well. I think we'll look for just a basketball hoop to play with in the shallow end.

Couldn't figure out why my shower wasn't hot when we have recirculating hot water tanks. Hubby found the culprit...this flexi pipe had a hole in it. Of course it's a Saturday close to 5pm and I had to find a plumber that could come out quickly to fix it.

I finally finished organizing the drawer and cabinets of my desk in the kitchen. Everything had been piled up on the dining room table so now the cabinets are organized and my dining room table is clutter free again.

I actually had to use this magnifying glass to read the instructions for a step counter I was trying to set up. I have had my eyes checked and I don't need glasses...but sometimes I really feel like I do. Perhaps I'll get them checked again.

Still working towards getting all the repairs done from our pipe leak. The walls had to be textured twice because the first time didn't look right. The project continues...

April 26, 2009 One wall repainted

So, pipe joint was repaired, the sheetrock replaced, the walls retextured and painted. Problems now...texturing isn't the same and the paint is darker. So, dh and I repainted one wall in the bathroom and one wall in the family room. Texturing still needs to be fixed and then we will repaint the bathroom and the family room yet again. Oh, and baseboards still need to be painted and replaced. What a mess!!!

This is all the sheetrock that had to be removed and replaced in the family room. The other side of the wall is the master bath and the same amount of sheetrock was removed from there as well.

Just as I was about to head out the door to work this morning dh noticed a puddle of water on the floor in the family room. Upon further investigation, he found a joint in the copper pipes behind the wall that was leaking. The wall was buckled just above the baseboard but the leak was about 4 1/2 feet up. Now for the repair work.

We took the pedals off of Seth's old bike so that Ethan could practice his balance before actually learning to ride. He did really well, but we need to keep practicing. He'll get it soon adn be off riding before we know it.

We sent to a birthday party at a local gymnastics place and the kids had a ball. Between the trampoline and climbing on and swinging on this rope Seth was exhausted by the time the party was over.

Seth was looking like the Jolly Green Giant on his 20" bike so we got him a 24" with dual hand brakes and 21 speeds. He's been riding it just about every single day since I picked it up. I'm glad I have a riding partner.

This was Seth's cereal this morning. I put a few drops of blue food coloring in the bottom of his bowl, added the cereal then the milk. He was like "why are my Cheerios blue?" Then the milk turned totally blue. I would have done it to Ethan too (using a different color), but he didn't want cereal for breakfast. Last year I put a raisin in their tube of toothpaste. LOL!

See he's very timid when it comes to things like skateboards, scooters and bikes so to see him actually attempting to ride those things is a HUGE accomplishment for him. I wanted a new pair of shoes for walking and Seth desperately needed new athletic shoes (of course Ethan got a pair in the process as well) because he only had 1 pair and they were totally worn out. I was going to get Seth 2 pairs but he ended up with 3 because the Vans outlet had them buy one get one half off so one pair was $14.95 and the second pair was $7.48. Ethan's shoes came from the Skechers outlet and they had buy one get one half off as well and that's where we went first.
